BEAM Program, co-led by Byars-Winston, helps build equitable mentorship opportunities for underrepresented medical students

A recent article in the UW–Madison School of Medicine and Public Health Quarterly profiles the BEAM (Building Equitable Access to Mentorship Program, co-led by IDS Chair Angela Byars-Winston. The program, which is in its fourth year, is a unique, evidence-based mentoring program that matches trained faculty mentors with Phase 1 medical students from groups historically underrepresented in medicine.
