On October 19th, IDS Chair Angela Byars-Winston presented to Congressional staffers at a briefing for the Graduate Research and Development Caucus. Byars-Winston was among several presenters including the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), and several graduate students from across the country. The briefing served to support the role of graduate students in the federal research landscape and, among other topics, emphasized the importance of mentorship activities in federally funded grants that include graduate and undergraduate trainees.
