IDS Writing Retreat

Most academics find it hard to set aside time for scientific writing. Writing retreats can help them achieve their writing goals. The first writing retreat of the Institute for Diversity Science will take place from June 6 – 8, 2024. The goal is to accomplish a lot of writing and enjoy nature. The event will be hosted at a family farm 75 minutes from Madison. There are enough tables and chairs (and computer displays) so that up to 10 participants can isolate themselves and focus on writing. When it’s time for a break participants can jump in the pool, brush the horses, or go for a stroll in the woods.The writing retreat is a three-day event. Activities start at 11:30 am on Day 1 and end at 11:30 am on Day 3. Only participants who stay for the entire retreat can register. On Day 3, you can decide to either go home at 11:30 am, or hang out at the farm until evening. Feel free to tell your family to come to the farm on Day 3.
