Jamie Koenig

I am a second year PhD student in the School of Social Work focused on health care access and policy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Prior to the doctoral program, I worked at a national disability organization providing technical support and assistance to university research centers focused on intellectual and developmental disabilities. I received my MSW-equivalent degree and an AB in economics from the University of Chicago.

My research focuses on inclusive and equitable health care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as improving access to social services. My research seeks to understand how health care and social services fail to meet the needs of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so that service improvements and interventions can be designed to improve health care quality and outcomes for this population.
