Email: cgedeon@wisc.edu
In 2023, I completed my PhD in Social and Developmental Psychology from University Paris Nanterre, France. Currently, I am a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, working with Professor Markus Brauer.
My research focuses on social cognition and intergroup attitudes in children and adults. Specifically, I explore how contextual and social factors influence intergroup attitudes and relationships across all ages. My current research investigates the dynamics of intergroup relations within the medical field, with a particular focus on the interactions between doctors and patients of different racial backgrounds, specifically White and Black patients. My goal is to uncover disparities and promote effective, unbiased communication in healthcare settings. This work not only furthers our understanding of social biases but also paves the way for more inclusive and empathetic medical practices.
Research areas: Intergroup relations, social cognition, children, adults
