Karumbaiah named Morgridge Fellow

IDS Affiliate Shamya Karumbaiah is one of 15 UW-Madison faculty and campus members who was recently named a 2024-2025 Morgridge Fellow by the Morgridge Institute for Public Service. 

The fellows were selected through a juried process to participate in the year-long learning community designed to further institutionalize and support Community-Engaged Scholarship.

Karumbaiah is an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Data Science Institute. She studies human-centered AI for teaching and learning with the aim to augment human-human interaction and practices. Her current research focuses on constructing scientific and critical understanding of equitable and responsible use of AI in classrooms.
